DELL XPS M1530 LapotpThe XPS M1730 was a monster both in gaming performance and size, while the XPS M1330 was one of the more portable 13.3-inchers in the market. So what happens if one wants a powerful machine but yet is unwilling to dislocate a shoulder while moving it? Well, the new XPS M1530 may be the answer. Though its footprint is slightly larger than the iconic MacBook Pro, it is almost as slim and light as its Apple rival. The design is also a departure from the US maker’s previous offerings and exudes class while presenting a clean look.

DELL XPS M1530Barring a few quirks, the M1530 offers almost all the common features expected of midsized portables and has one of the most powerful graphics performances in its class.

Verzio Duplii

VERZIO, a regional 3C (computing, communications, consumer electronics) brand with headquarters in Singapore, introduces Duplii — the world’s 1st 3G tri-band dual SIM handset in the Philippines. Its other model, Twinn is the world’s 1st EDGE/E-GPRS tri-band dual SIM handset.

Equipped with 3G and tri-band capabilities, the Duplii enables video calls and conferencing, high-speed data access and multimedia streaming. This allows anyone to roam around the world even in countries such as the United States and Japan.

Duplii also boasts having the combination of QualComm and Philips NXP processors, which are long-life platforms designed for minimal power consumption. It comes with an FM radio and a real value 2 mega-pixel camera, contrary to usual interpolated lens sensors. The handset is further capable of PC Sync, allowing full data synchronization including contacts.

Besides its Edge/E-GPRS and tri-band features, the Twinn is the first dual SIM slider phone in the market. It is also compact in size and offers touch screen functionality. It has a real value 1.3 mega-pixel camera, and uses a Philips NXP processor.

Haldane’s VP/GM, Chris Uyco cites that Verzio handset users can now enjoy the convenience of transferring their complete contact list via PC Sync or “send/receive all contacts” via Bluetooth. Both models can each contain 1,000 names and up to 3,000 numbers. Haldane Phils. is the authorized distributor of Verzio products, which currently distributes O2, Sony Ericsson, Canon, BenQ and Siemens in the Philippines.

Duplii and Twinn models come from the same manufacturer of the top 2 mobile phone brands. Likewise, both are registered with the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
