Ubuntu 8.10, the latest version of a phenomenally popular and successful distro and will be release hopefully by Octpber 30, 2008, but for those of us who can’t wait what’s in store with the newest version of Ubuntu called “Intrepid Ibex”
Here’s a summary of what we can expect from Ubuntu 8.10 :
- It can now detect Bluetooth and Wireless devices
- It now have drivers ready for all hardwares.
- The new Human theme, done in superbly pleasing dark brown colors.
- It offers versions upgrade within the system.
- The Private folder allows users to create their own private, encrypted folder inside their home directory.
- Tabbed Nautilus File Browser

Great! I have been able to play with some OSes a few years back, but now I still stick with Windows. Hehehe.
Ubuntu is exciting, if it has all the buzz just like Windows, everyone will be using this and everything is updated.

@Gem Ubuntu is fast arising as the Linux distro for the masses. With every version comes “user friendly” improvement.

I know a few people that use Ubuntu and they love it, though I am a windows person myself. I might have to give Ubuntu a try though, what with all the great things I keep hearing about it.
