The First Dual-Active Sim phone model is in the market today, launched by Solid Group under the brand name myPhone.

The T22 Duo does not have to restart each time the user wants to switch SIMSs, and its interface is patterned after major phone brands, according to Solid Group president Dave Lim.

That is good news for consumers who want to maintain two active lines.

It is also recommended for frequent travellers who prefer to buy temporary SIMs when abroad without discarding their main SIM. Like others in the myPhone Touch series, the T22 has a touch screen and alphanumeric keypad.

The T22 has a handwriting recognition tool as well, but this can interrupt usage for those who use their finger instead of the stylus.

The handset is not really a smartphone but has similar applications, including organizers.

For multimedia, the T22 has a video player, two megapixel camera and mp3/mp4 recorder and player. It has a 2MB built-in user memory that can be augment by a Micro SD/T-flash memory card.

The handset connects via GPRS/GSM 900/1800. Its also has bluetooth, SMS, EMS, MMS, e-mails and GPRS-powered browser.
